Home Remedies For Head Lice

Head lice are small organism that is found on dirty heads of humans. Those people who do not keep their tresses clean and do not wash their heads on regular basis often suffer from head lice. These organism stay in your head and give birth to more lice. These lice are in the egg form while they are born. Moreover these lice eggs are white in color. A person having head lice is considered to be a taboo in an educated society. You must clean your head on regular basis to get rid of head lice.
How does it occur?
There are several ways for head lice to form in your hair.
The most common way is a filthy and dirty environment. If your head is not washed properly then there are chances of the head lice to grow in your hair.
Head lice are highly contagious. It spreads from one head to another. If you come in contact with a person with head lice then you are sure to get infected by the head lice.

Home Remedies for the treatment of Head Lice:
  • You can get rid of head lice in many ways. There are many shampoos available in the market that is especially for head lice removal. However, such anti-lice shampoos have certain chemical content in them which are not good for your hair and scalp. Therefore, home remedies are the best for the treatment of head lice. Listed below are few ways to get rid of lice from your scalp and hair.
  • Keep your scalp free from any dirt. Wash your hair on regular basis with any herbal shampoo and keep your scalp away from any kind of dirt.
  • Lemon juice mixed with garlic paste is a perfect way to get rid of head lice. Extract some fresh lemon juice. Now take two table spoon of lemon juice and mix it with one tablespoon of garlic paste. Apply it on your scalp for thirty minutes and then wash it off. Repeat this every fourth day of the week for better results.
  • Olive oil is very good oil for killing head lice. Massage your hair with good amount of olive oil. Now cover your hair with a shower cap. Leave it overnight or for ten hours. Now, the next morning, wash your hair with an herbal shampoo. Repeat it every week
  • Soak almonds overnight. Make a paste of the almonds, mix two tablespoon of lemon juice in the paste. Now apply it evenly on your scalp. Keep it for three hours or until it dries up. Then wash it off with cold water.
  • You can use alcohol if you wish. You can massage your hair with alcohol and keep it for few hours and then wash it off with cold water. This is a very good way to get rid of lice.
  • Make a paste of Margosa leaves or neem leaves and apply it on your scalp. Let it dry for some time and then wash it off with cold water.
